JESSICA MCGUIRE
Professional Beach Volleyball Player I NCAA Captain
Jessica's journey to becoming a professional athlete and elite coach is defined by grit, heart, and resilience. Raised in Southern California, she began her athletic career on the soccer field. But her competitive fire truly ignited at UCLA, where she walked on to the women’s rowing team with no experience—and within two years became team captain and earned a scholarship. After surviving a collapsed lung and a near-death experience, Jessica made a remarkable comeback, earning the NCAA Wilma Rudolph Award for overcoming extraordinary adversity.
After college, a friend introduced her to beach volleyball. Jessica fell in love with the sport and dedicated herself to intense training. Within two years, she was competing in AVP tournaments, which then led her to traveling internationally on the FIVB circuit, and earning an AAA rating. She’s won multiple CVBA open-level tournaments, made four international main draws, and was sponsored by Olympian Kerri Wash's p1440 program for two years. She’s played professionally on nearly every continent and continues to bring the same fire and focus to the court.
With over 15 years of coaching experience, Jessica now helps athletes of all levels sharpen their skills, elevate their mindset, and build confidence. She’s worked with Harvard-Westlake, Notre Dame Academy, Sunshine Volleyball Club, Actyve, Surfside, Westcoast, and more—offering private lessons, group sessions, and beach camps.
Jessica also integrates mental performance coaching into her sessions. Her approach blends technical precision with motivational tools to help athletes thrive. She is currently exploring graduate studies in sports psychology and hopes to coach at the collegiate level. For now, she’s focused on inspiring the next generation—one confident, empowered athlete at a time.
JESSICA'S Mission
My mission is simple. I believe every player has the potential for greatness. With quality reps, strong fundamentals, and mental toughness, anything is possible. Seeing kids gain confidence and learn to believe in themselves is why I coach. Once you earn their trust, you can shape not only their game but their mindset for life.
